Effective 2026-10-06. Stu operates FinQuarry as an independent publisher. For corrections and removal requests, contact contact@finquarry.net.

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes IP addresses and request data in its logs. Cloudflare may set security cookies. FinQuarry sets no cookies unless you sign in (see Accounts below), and runs no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. It keeps its own counts of how the site's features are used, with no identifier in them (see Counting below). Stu sees only aggregate traffic totals from Cloudflare, such as page views, unique visitors and countries.

This browser stores fq-prefs for your watchlist, filters, display choices, your TradingView choice and seen-story markers. It also stores gt-spx-range for the range you chose on the S&P 500 mini chart. It also stores fq-acct, which remembers whether sign-in is available and, once you have signed in, your email address (or, after your session has ended, a short fingerprint of it) and a copy of the settings last saved to your account, with the times they were changed and saved. While you are at Google's sign-in page this tab also holds a marker called fq-signin. Unless you sign in, all of these values stay in your browser and are not sent to FinQuarry. Use Reset my preferences in Your view to clear your saved choices. You can also clear this site's data in your browser to remove every localStorage key.

TradingView charts and data (the market strip, the S&P 500 chart, and the prices, charts and fundamentals on earnings cards and in story details) load automatically when you visit from outside the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland. From inside those places, or when FinQuarry cannot tell where you are, the site asks once when you arrive, and nothing is requested from TradingView until you agree. Your own choice always wins, and you can switch TradingView off in Your view with Always show TradingView charts and data; while it is off the charts load only after you click Show market data. When charts load, your browser connects to TradingView and TradingView receives your IP address, the page address and the symbols of the charts shown (on the Earnings tab's Watchlist view, those are your watchlist companies that report that week), and may set its own cookies. Company charts on earnings cards load only as they come into view. Include watchlist tickers is off by default. If you turn it on, TradingView also receives your watchlist tickers when the market strip loads. You can switch off either choice in Your view.

To decide whether to ask, your browser requests your country from FinQuarry's own address (finquarry.net/geo), and Cloudflare, which already hosts the site, answers with the country it derives from your IP address. The answer is used once, in your browser, for that decision. FinQuarry stores nothing about it, on the server or in your browser, and the request is skipped once you have made a choice. Like every request to the site, it is processed by Cloudflare as described above.

Counting. To see which parts of the site are used, FinQuarry counts a short list of actions: opening a tab, opening a story, following a link to a publisher, opening the briefing or the settings, changing a filter, saving or resetting preferences, pressing a locked control or a sign-in button, and signing in or out. Your browser sends the counts, a few at a time, to FinQuarry's own address (finquarry.net/count). Each one holds the name of the action (for example which tab), whether the screen is phone-sized, whether you are signed in, and the site's version. A count never includes anything you typed, the story, ticker or company involved, your email address or account, or any identifier, and no IP address is stored with it; nothing is saved in your browser for it. Counts are not linked to each other: there is no visitor or session number. Each count is kept, with the time it arrived, in Cloudflare's Workers Analytics Engine for three months, and Stu keeps the daily totals after that. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is counted. Like every request to the site, the request itself is processed by Cloudflare as described above.

Accounts. Signing in is optional and free. Without it you can read the stories, scores and briefings; keeping a watchlist, changing the Breaking thresholds and opening the full Calendar and Earnings tabs need an account (without one, those two tabs show a preview). If sign-in is ever out of order, they open to everyone until it works again. Sign-in is handled by Google: your browser goes to accounts.google.com, where Google asks which account to use and tells FinQuarry your email address and its identifier for that account. Google's page may list more (your name, language and picture); FinQuarry asks only for your email address, never sees your password and keeps none of Google's tokens. For each account FinQuarry stores that identifier, your email address, when you first and last signed in, and a copy of your Your view settings with the time each was last changed (your watchlist, filters and display choices, but not your TradingView choices or your seen-story markers), so that they follow you between devices. When you first sign in on a browser, it takes your account's settings and adds that browser's own watchlist to them. This is kept in a Cloudflare database and is used only to sign you in, to save your settings and to count how many accounts there are (one total, which identifies no one).

Signing in sets two cookies that only FinQuarry reads: __Host-fq_oauth, for up to ten minutes while you are at Google, and __Host-fq_session, for 30 days, to keep you signed in. Sign out ends the session, removes its cookie and puts the Your view settings in that browser back to their defaults; they stay in your account. Delete my account, in Your view, removes your account, its sessions and its saved settings from the database at once, and leaves that browser's settings as they are; Cloudflare's restorable history of that database can hold them for up to 30 days longer, and only Stu can reach it. Accounts that have not signed in for two years are deleted; that clean-up runs whenever anyone signs in. To ask what is stored about you, or to have it deleted for you, write to the contact address above. You can also remove FinQuarry's access in your Google Account settings at any time.

FinQuarry does not sell personal data. It does not share personal data beyond the hosting and market-data connections described above and, if you choose to sign in, the sign-in with Google. Those services process request data to provide the site. This site is not directed at children.
